Mrs. Venolia Armstead, age 84 of Forkland, Alabama passed May 10, 2008 at Greene County Hosptial, Eutaw, Alabama. Funeral services were held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 12 Noon at the Old Green Oak Baptist Church, Forkland, Alabama. Rev. Ronald Craig is the pastor. Elder James Fields officiated. Sis. Iris Smith served as mistress of order. Interment followed in Old Green Oak Cemetery. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Mrs. Venolia Armstead leaves to cherish her precious memories: three children Mary Armstead Paigge of Forkland, AL, Octavia (Kanawha) Chavis of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jerome Stallworth of Chicago, IL; her siblings Bettye Ezell, Julia Waller, Lula Trainer, Mahalia (Wilbert) Page of Mobile, AL, Ada Miller of Buffalo, N.Y.,Carrie Mae Sanders of Canton, OH, and Clarence (Eliza) Haywood of Belvedere, IL; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
