Mr. Silas Seabron, Sr., of Demopolis, Alabama entered into eternal rest January 20, 2012 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Small Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, Jefferson, Alabama. Rev. Linda Holliger, Pastor. Rev. Edward Seabron will officiate. Rev. ronald Butler, Presiding Elder. Rt. rev. James E. McCoy, Presiding Elder. Deacon Lorenzo McCants, Master Of Order. Interment will follow in Miller's Chapel Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama. The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday morning from 8:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. at the main chapel of Larkin & Scott Funeral Home. Silas was born May 5, 1935 to the late Mary Jane Clay and the late Edmond Seabron in Marengo County. He confessed hope in Christ and joined the Small Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church where he remained a faithful member until death. Silas married in 1957 to Creola W. Jones. During their 35 years five children were born. Creola passed from labor to reward on April 1, 1992. He then married Della R. Rowser in 1996. Silas graduated from John Essex High School in 1957. Employed as a dedicated bus driver with Marengo County School System for years. He then worked for River City Induries before acquiring a job at CEMEX corporation. Silas retired from CEMEX after more than twenty five years of dedicated service. After retiring Silas didn't stop working he became a member of Robertson Banking Company maintenace team. Silas continued doing what he loved most which was farming, he continue to farm until he was no longer able to work. Silas was a dedicated man of many attributes as a dedicated husband, dedicated father, grandfather and friend. Silas was preceded in death by his loving wife, Creola Seabron, one sister, Annie L. Holloway and three brothers, Ruben Cosby, Samuel Cosby and Robert Cosby. Silas passed from labor to reward on Friday January 20, 2012 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. Silas leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving, devoted and caring wife, Della R. Seabron of Demopolis, AL; five loving and devoted children, Pastor Edward (Della) Seabron, Debra (Wilbert) Williams, Silas (Rosemary) Seabron, Eugene Seabron, all of Demopolis, AL., Rosa Bradford of Birmingham, AL; three loving and devoted step-children, Frank (Charlotte) Jones, Lithonia, GA., Rachel (Bobby) Small, Warner Robbins, GA, Sonya (Jake) Hammond, Montgomery, AL; 33 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; four sisters, Amy Paige, Mary Thomas, both of Demopolis, AL, Betty Bullock, Abby Marie Cosby, both of New York; three brothers, Vincent (Annie) Cosby, Arthur (Virginia Cosby of Demopolis, AL and Eddie L. Cosby of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Lena Williams of Mobile, AL; five sisters-in-law, Mary Nell Jones of Dayton, OH, Gwendolyn (Donald) Williams, Gallion, AL, Darlene Horton, Hartford, CT., Melinda Smith & Rachel (Charles) Dawson, Bronx, NY; three brothers in law, Thomas (Goldrene) Jones, Bessemer, AL, Mack Jones of York, AL and Albert Rowser of Brox, N.Y.; two uncles, Eddie Seabron & Albert Seabron of Sacramento, CA; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
