Funeral services for Mr. Roy Quinney, age 80 of Demopolis, Alabama were held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Linden, Alabama. Rev. Joseph Harper officiated. Sis. Louise Lee, mistress of order. Interment followed in McKinley Memorial Gardens, Linden, Alabama. Preceding him in death was his wife, Rebecca Quinney, one brother, Nelson Quinney, Jr., one sister, Lula Quinney Pouge, stepdaughter, Rebecca A. Braxton and one step son, Charles Braxton. Confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with Hopewell Baptist Church, Linden. Veteran of United States Army. Employed by former Warrior Concrete Company of Demopolis, Alabama for nineteen (19) years. Born to the late Nelson Quinney, Sr. and Annie Gaines Quinney. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Roy Quinney entered into eternal rest August 30, 2007 at his residence. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: three daughters Margie (Edward) Jones, Gallion, Alabama, Edna McKinley, Demopolis, Alabama, Annie Holt, Long Island, New York; two step-daughters which he reared Gail Braxton and Debra Mullen of Demopolis, Alabama; nine grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Viola & Eliza Quinney and Emma Ross all of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Charlie Quinney, Sr. of Forkland, AL & Mack (Rose) Quinney of Bronx, N.Y; a very devoted friend, Mrs. Mamie Williams of Demopolis, Alabama. A devoted caregiver, Joe James of Demopolis, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
