Mr. Roy Hawkins, age 58 of Jefferson, Alabama entered into eternal rest September 25, 2012 at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Mobile, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 29,2012 at 1 p.m. at the First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Jefferson, Alabama. Rev. Edmond Charleston will officiate. Deacon Jesse Wheeler, Master Of Order. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama. The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 12 noon. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include four brothers, James & John Hawkins of Demopolis, Alabama, Rev. Joe (Gloria) Hawkins of Thomasville, Alabama and Frederick (Marilyn) Hawkins of Jackson, Alabma; two aunts, Icey Bell Jones of Kingsport, Tennessee and Annie Pearl Potts of Los Angeles, CA; two uncles, Otis (Jessie Lee) Potts of Los Angeles, CA., and Harvey (Theresa) Potts of Waterbury, CT; two nieces, Lashondia Hawkins of Tuscaloosa, AL., and Marisa Hawkins of Thomasville, AL; two nephews, Russell Hawkins of Tuscaloosa, AL and R.J. Biggs of Thomasville, Al; one great nephew, Nicholas Archie of Tuscaloosa, AL; two very special caregivers, Regina Biggs of Thomasville, AL and Minister Arthur (Vera) Mitchell of Jackson, AL; Roy was born in Jefferson, Alaabama to the parentage of the late James and Maggie Hawkins. He was well known in Jefferson, Alabama community by family and friends. The latter part of his life was spent in Jackson, Alabama. Roy confessed Christ at an early age and joined the First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Jefferson, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his sister, Leola Hawkins Daniels, two aunts, Alberta McKnight and Jessie Lee Jones and two uncles, Lee Johnson and Grover Potts.
