Mrs. Rachel King-Carr, age 69 of Demopolis, Alabama, a former resident of Gallion, Alabama entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Princeton-Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Gilfield Missionary Baptist Church, Old Springhill (Gallion), Alabama. Rev. Moses Jones, Sr., pastor. Rev. Lacornie Harris officiated. Interment followed in the Gilfield Cemetery, Gallion, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. She was born to the parentage of the late Willie King and Mary King of Gallion, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Gilfield Baptist Church until death. Rachel was united in Holy matrimony to the late Silas Carr. She was preceded her in death by her sisters, Olivia Lawson and Rosetta Soles. She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving daughter, Rachel King (Anthony Wagner) of Demopolis, Alabama; two sisters, eloise (Minister Willie L. ) Lawson of Gallion, Alabama and Willie Mae Hunter of chamburgs, PA; five grandchildren, Cleo Brown of Cresson, PA., Lawrence (Kenoshia) Watts of Birmingham, AL, Eric (Erica May), Derrick King and Stevonnia Bryant all of Demopolis, AL; 13 great grandchildren, three great grand children; one devoted great niece, Marguerite Fisher of Old Springhill, Alabama; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
