Onis Howell "Howell" Jackson , age 83, of Boligee, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on March 6, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1942.

Howell was preceded in death by his parents, Onis and Lillian Jackson; his brother, Jimmy Ray Jackson; and his beloved wife, Melanie Dianne Jackson, of Boligee, Alabama.

He is survived by his four sons: Chris Jackson of Kansas, Lynn Jackson of Northport, Lance Jackson (Julie) of Tuscaloosa, and Joel Jackson (Melissa). Howell also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Alexis Jackson, Storm Jackson, Katelynn Jackson, Alex Jackson (Mimi), Susanna Jackson, and Julianne Jackson. He was the proud great-grandfather of Alexander Boyd Jackson II. Additionally, he is survived by his niece, Dana Heaton; his nephew, Wesley Jackson; and his two step-grandchildren, Truitt Gowan and Reese Gowan.

Howell was a longtime realtor and the proud owner of Howell Jackson Realty & Construction, Inc. He was also a proud Navy veteran who served his country with honor. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and cherished spending time with family and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Care for their compassionate support, as well as to special friends Bonnie and Pete Johnson and Al and Bonita Evans. They extend special thanks to his sitters, Shirley Waddell and Geri Wright, for their care and kindness, and to his daughter-in-law, Melissa Jackson, for her unwavering support in his final days.

Howell will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to his work, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
