Mrs. Nellie Brown, age 89 of Queens, New York, formerly of Demopolis, Alabama passed August 22, 2009 at Queens General Hospital, Queens, New York. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nazareth of Galilee Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Wendell Charleston, Pastor. Rev. Lynn Finch, Officiating. Interment will follow in Prout Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama. The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:00 Noon. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. She leaves to cherish her precious memories one grandson she reared, Derramius Edward of Queens, New York. One very devoted sister-in-law, Mary Alice Brown of Demopolis, Alabama. 41 nieces & nephews; two devoted nieces, Dorothy Thornton of Philadelphia, PA and Roberta Taylor of Gallion, Alabama. One daughter, Bettye Brown, Gallion, Alabama; three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. A host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
