Mrs. Mary Alice Jones, age 76 of 105 West Windsor Street, Demopolis, Alabama entered into eternal rest March 5, 2011 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Morning Star Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Ezell Simon, Jr. Pastor-Officiant. Interment follow in Memorial Cemetery, Arcola Road, Demopolis, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. She was born to the parentage of the late Carolyn Carter Perry and the late Jimmie Allen. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Morning Star Baptist Church where she remained faithful and a member of the Sanctuary Choir. Mary attended U.S. Jones High School. Through hard work and dedication, she later obtained her GED. To increase her knowledge, she attended C.A. Fredd State Technical College, Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she earned a degree in Nursing and a degree in Nursing from Livingston University, Livingston, Alabama. Her employment career included thirty two (32) years of dedicated service at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. After retirement, she continued to served the Greensboro Nursing Home, Greensboro, Alabama, Greene County Nursing Home Health Services and Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home, Demopolis, Alabama. One son, Julius Carter, preceded her in death in 2006. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, one very loving and devoted daughter, Doris (Billy) Henderson of Demopolis, AL; one son, Timothy Carter of Buffalo, N.Y; one loving sister, Jimmie Mary (Evangelist Joe) Lee of Arverne, N.Y; two loving aunts, Virginia Gary and Pearl Norman of Demopolis, AL; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two devoted friends, Carrie Watters and Leslie Hill of Demopolis, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
