Mrs. Malinda Simmons, age 63 of Demopolis, Alabama passed February 6, 2008 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eastern Star Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Terry Gosa officiated. Interment followed in Mt. Zion #2 Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. She was born to the parentage of Mrs. Virginia Williams and the late Mr. Dudley Lucas. She grew up in the Saltwell Community and graduated from John Essex High School. She confessed Christ and joined Eastern Star Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Freddie Simmons who preceded her in death. Also she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie, father, Dudley Lucas and siblings, Hattie Bell & Kiser Edwards. She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda (Alcus) Snell of St. Petersburg, FL and Joyce (Anthony) Cunningham of Demopolis, AL; one son, Freddie Simmons, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL; five precious grandchildren; loving and devoted mother, Virginia Williams of St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Alberta Edwards of St. Petersburg, FL and Eliza Williams of Demopolis, AL; two brothers, Robert & Henry Williams of St. Petersburg, FL; four uncles, Lee Earl (Joyce) Lynch of Montgomery, AL, Berlin (Lois) Lynch of Detroit, MI, Neil Lynch and Henry (Ida)Lynch al of New York; two step-sisters, Margaret (Van) Hurns of Demopolis, AL & Daisy Mack of Mobile, AL; five sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
