Mrs. Lou Ethel Byner, age 75 of Demopolis, Alabama entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at U.A.B. Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama. She was born to the late Cleveland Hargrove and the late Mary Virginia Mack in Greene County, Alabama. Precious memories will be forever cherished by her devoted daughter, Cynthia I. Byner, Birmingham, AL, sons; Kenneth (Tunya) Byner, Stone Mountain, GA, and Josephus Lewis, Summerville, S.C.; two treasured granddaughters, Heather Coles, Woodbridge, VA and Kendyl Byner, Stone Mountain, GA. Five sisters, Elizabeth Brown, Poughkeepsieie, N.Y, Yvonne (Carl) Lytle, Angela Harris, Jackie (Peter) Jones and Edith Jane (William) McCall all of Philadelphia, PA. One step-brother, Isaiah (Ann) Mack, Linden, AL. A committed friend and caregiver, Cynthia Dent. Three exceptional friends that conversed daily, Ann Mack, Hattie Wright, and Cora Kelly and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and numerous Demopolis and Bethel Baptist Church, Pratt City. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the St. Paul Baptist Church, Old Springhill Road, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. D. Smith, Pastor. Rev. John H. Kennard will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hwy 43, Demopolis, AL. The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul Baptist Church Youth Department (Demopolis, AL) or the Alabama Kidney Foundation in her honor.
