Taber Baptist Church of Coatopa, Alabama. Rev. Albert Murdock Jr. is the pastor and officated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Lewis Matthews is survived by a loving wife, Mrs. Georgia Matthews of Coatopa, Alabama; four children Marcella (Hayes) Cook of Warrensville Heights, OH, Rebecca (Otis) Strom of Dorchester, MA, Joe Nathan (Shirley)Matthews of Detroit, MI, and Curtis (Merendy) Matthews of Coatopa, AL. Four sisters Luella Maye of Meridian, MS, Lucille Campbell of Livingston, AL, Alice Lee of Coatopa, AL, and Elnora Rice of Coatopa, AL. Five brothers Joe Nathan Matthews of Coatopa, AL, James (Hattie) Matthews of Cleveland,OH, Isiah (Mable) Matthews of Warrensville Heights, OH, Chaney Matthews of Coatopa, AL and Johnnie Matthews of Coatopa, AL; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
