Mr. James Thornton of Greensboro, Alabama passed July 31, 2008. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Newbern, Alabama. Rev. Dexter Thornton officiated. Interment followed in the Croom Cemetery of Newbern, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors entrusted with all arrangements. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1 p.m-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Mr. James Thornton is the beloved husband of the late Mrs. Pollie Williams Thornton and the beloved father of Estella and Carrie Thornton of Greensboro, Alabama. Mr. James Thornton leaves to cherish his precious memories: four children Walter (Hazel) Thornton of Cleveland, Ohio, Carrie (William) Knox and Estella Thornton of Newbern, Alabama, and Eddie (Bridgette) Hogan of Toledo, Ohio; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; one brother Richard Thornton of Cleveland, Ohio; One sister in law Marzetta Watson of Cleveland, Ohio, 2 brothers in law Wesley (Patricia) Williams of Birmingham, AL and Levi Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A special nephew Minister Dexter (Carolyn) Thronton of Newbern, AL and a special cousin Cassidy Scott of Tuscaloosa, AL
