Mr. James Byrd, a longtime resident of Detroit, Michigan and a former native of Demopolis, Alabama entered into eternal rest May 5, 2012. He is the beloved husband of Mrs. LeAnna Byrd, a loving and devoted wife and his beloved daughter, Keisha; a host of loving siblings, nieces, nephews and devoted friends who loved him and will remember him dearly and will cherish the beautiful memories. Complete funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John The Great Church, 16101 Shaffer Avenue,Detroit, Michigan. Rev. Victor Sharpe, Jr., pastor and officiating minister. Final Homegoing Services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Fred D. Moore, Pastor and Master of Ceremony. Rev. Victor Sharpe, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Demopolis, AL. The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Public viewing will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
