Mr. Jake Mullen, age 81 of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Demopolis, Alabama passed March 31, 2009 at Huron Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evening Star Baptist Church, Gallion, Alabama. Rev. Floyd James will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Highway 43 South, Demopolis,Alabama; son of Mrs. Amelia Zanders of Demopolis, Alabama; brother of Minnie Scott , Mary (Garfield) Hairston of Cleveland, Ohio and Mabel Mullen of Easthampton, N.J; seven brothers, Roosevelt (Daisy) Zanders of Demopolis, AL, Steve (Sara) Zanders of Cleveland, OH, Emanuel (Yvonne) Zanders of Baton Rouge, LA, Herbert Mulen of Demopolis, AL; Fleming (Nannette) Mullenand Jerome (Delores) Mullen, all of Rosedale, N.Y; one uncle, Leven (Florence) Croom of Demopolis, AL; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two godchildren, Steve, Jr., Sheldon Zanders; devoted nieces and nephews, John (Edith) Scott, Evelyn (Rev. Floyd) James, and Betty (Steve) Allen; devoted first cousin, Joseph (Lillie) and Belve Sams, Jr; a special mention is noted for a friend who loved and cared for him, Linda Magee.
