Mr. Irvin Gilbert, age 76 of Worcester, MA., formerly of Demopolis, Alabama passed April 8, 2008 at Blair House Hospice, Worcester, MA. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Fred Moore oficiated. Interment followedin Memorial Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Born to the parentage of the late Eugene Gilbert and Beulah Harris Gilbert in Demopolis, Alabama. He received his formal education at the U.S. Jones High School in Demopolis, Alabama. Later moved to Worchester, MA and united with the Holden Chapter Nondenominational Church under the leadership of Pastor Tom Curtis. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted companion, Ms. Maria Gemei of Worchester, MA; three sisters, Marie (John) White, Marrero, LA, Mary Francis Payne, Demopolis, AL and MInnie (Ted) Foster of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Thomas (Carrie) Gilbert of Demopolis, Alabama; one godson, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
