Ms. Helen Washington of Forkland, Alabama, entered into eternal rest December 26, 2013 at the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Demopolis, AL. Funeral services for Ms. Helen Washington were held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Forkland, AL, Rev. Lynn Finch officiated. Interment followed in the adjourning church cemetery. Survivors include two loving children, Ulysses (Sharon) Washington of Orlando, FL and Sharon Renee (Vernon) Washington of Augusta, GA; five sisters, Bertha (Richard) Cotton of Dolton, IL, Patricia (Marvin) Head (caregivers) and Theresa (Lee) Davis of Augusta, GA, Julia (Ben) Jackson of Forkland, AL and Janet (Charles) Cunningham of Amityville, NY; four brothers, George Jackson of Tishabee, AL, James (Freda) Jackson of Forkland, AL and Ulysses Simmons of Birmingham, AL and Joe of Amityville, NY; a loving and devoted sister-in-law, Hattie Emma Evans of Birmingham, AL; one brother-in-law, Henry Smith, Jr. of Tishabee, AL; ten grandchildren, one whom she reared as her own, Travis Washington of Augusta, GA; two beautiful great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, two whom she considered her own, Morris (Priscilla) Turner and Fred Jackson of Forkland, AL; other relatives and special friends.
