Services were held Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, Coatopa, Alabama. Rev. Henry Williams officiated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include four children, Marcella (Hayes) Cook of Warrensville Heights, OH, Rebecca (Otis) Strom of Dorchester, MA, Joe Matthews of Detroit, MI and Curtis (Merendy) Matthews of Coatopa, AL: 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
