Mr. Frank Armstead, Sr. of Forkland, Alabama, the beloved husband of Mrs. Ovetta Armstead of Forkland, Alabama entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his residence. Graveside Services were held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Highway 43 South, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Fred D. Moore, his nephew and Pastor of Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama delivered consoling words of encouragement. Interment services followed with Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with all arrangements. Five sons, Bobby (Annie) Armstead of Demopolis, AL, Frank Armstead Jr., of Huntsville, AL, Michael & Phillip Armstead of Forkland, AL, Leavert Armsted of Douglasville, GA; Five daughters, Delois Walton & Cynthia Armstead of Demopolis, AL, Barbara and Lisa Armstead, Bernice (James) Charleston all of Forkland, AL; six brothers, Theodore (Annie) Armstead, Forkland, AL, Freddie (Dorothy) Armstead, Demopolis, AL, Henry (Lettie) Armsted, Detroit, MI., Mark Armstead, Jr., Canton, OH, James (Rebecca) Armstead and Mark Armstead of Demopolis, AL; four sisters, Fannie (Charles) Hall, Gallion, AL, Mary Armstead of Chicago, IL, Ada Armstead of Demopolis, AL, Eula Armstead, Rahway, N.J.; two brothers-in-law, Rufus (Mary) Jackson and Joe (Dorothy) Jackson of Canton, OH; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Watkins of Canton, OH. and Alice Armstead of Detroit, MI; 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; adopted sons, Robert Collins, Gary (Donna) Malone; one devoted cousin, Lucy Rainey of Forkland, AL; two devoted friends, Callie (Earl) Gilbert of Forkland, AL. and George Mullen of Gallion, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Frank was born to the parentage of the late Mary & Mark Armstead. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Bryant and Teresa Byrd and one brother, George Armstead. On August 9, 1952 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Ovetta Jackson and to this union ten children were born. He graduated from Old U.S. Jones High School. In 1995, after 35 years with Thermogas, he retired and continued to be a Certified License Heating and Air Conditioner Entreprenur and was excellent in performing his duties.
