Mrs. Ethel Craig James of Demopolis, Alabama entered into eternal rest January 13, 2016 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Craig James were held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, AL. Rev. Fred Moore, Pastor. Rev. John Kennard officiated. Interment followed in Birdine Church Cemetery, Forkland, AL .Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with all arrangements.

Ethel Craig was the eldest daughter born to the union of Ida Mae and Milton Craig in Hale County, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age at Birdine AME Church, Forkland, Alabama.

Ethel was preceded in death by both parents, Ida Mae Craig and Milton Craig; sons, Robert James, Jr. and Leroy James; granddaughter, Angelica James; daughter-in-law, Gail James; sister, Minnie Lee Burrell; brothers, Jessie Craig, Lovell Craig, Milton Craig, Samuel Craig, David Craig and Robert Merriweather, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Mary Williams and Nancy Williams, both of Detroit, MI; nine children, Willie (Yaneth) Greene of Cataula, GA, Pinell James of Demopolis, AL, Joe Nathan (Elise) James, Sr. and David (Jacqulene) James, both of Stone Mountain, GA, Ida Mae Aketch of San Antonio, TX, Mary (Jerry) Merriweather of Columbus, GA, Lisa (Alan) Edmonds of Hampton, GA, Virginia Felton of Buford, GA, and Martha Pennington of Lincoln, NE; thirty (30) grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends and family includes Margaret Thomas, Janice Burrell, Levy Russell, Willie Clark, Betty Craig, Angell Jones, Mary Bailey and Virginia Johnson.
