Mr. Ellis Levy, Jr., a native of Coatopa, Alabama entered into eternal rest February 16, 2014 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral Services for Mr. Ellis Levy, Jr., were held Saturday February 22,2014 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Pine Baptist Church, Coatopa, Alabama; Rev. Floyd Bell, Pastor; Rev. Willie J. Ivory officiated. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Coatopa, Alabama. Visitation was held Friday, February 21,2014 from 1-5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Levy was dearly loved by and admired by family and friends. He is survived by his daughter , Dr. Elica M. Moss and her mother , Yvonne D. Moss; one sister Vera Vaughn, two brothers Frank Levy and Jerone(Jacqueline)Levy; a devoted niece Javonne Levy ; three aunts, Mary Dykes, Louise Mitchell and Mattie Brown;one devoted cousin, Essie Levy, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Levy worked for the Sumpter County Board of Education for 38 years. He spent 31 years as principal at his pride and joy, Sumpter County High School. He created a legacy of pride, dedication, character, achievement and leadership that will forever be remembered by those who attended Sumter County High School.
