Mrs. Eliza J. Smith, age 56 of Faunsdale, Alabama entered into eternal rest January 25, 2012 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Highway 25, Newbern, Alabama. Rev. S.J. Powell, Pastor. Rev. Arthur Turner officiated. Interment followed in Owens Family Cemetery, Faunsdale, Alabama. Eliza Smith began her journey of life on July 18, 1955 to the parentage of Mrs. Margaret Threatt and the late Earlie Nathaniel Threatt in Pell City, Alabama. She later moved to South Fallsburg, New York where she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Julius Smith. She worked at Crystal Run of New York for many years. She confessed Christ in 2002 at First Church of Christ in Fallsburg, New York where Pastor Elder Hall served as pastor. Eliza departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Yolanda Smith, father Earlie Nathaniel Threatt, Sr., and five brothers, George, Robert, Earlie, Nathaniel Jr., Joseph and James Threatt and her loving father and mother in law, Amos and Winnie Ward. She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving husband, Julius Smith; a son, LaQuintin Smith; two loving granddaughters, Jahdazi & Tatiana Florez all of Faunsdale, AL; a loving & devoted mother, Margaret Threatt of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Uniontown, AL; five loving sisters, Della Turner of Pell City, AL, Juanita (Walter) Johnson of Ft. Wayne, IN., willie Lois and Mary Louise Threatt of South Fallsburg, NY and Gwen (Charles) Boykins of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, John Paul Threatt of Covington, GA and Johnny Threatt of Pell City, AL; four aunts, Willie Lee (David) Turner of Faunsdale, AL, Gladys Threatt of Griffin, GA, Mary Threatt and Jean Threatt of Pell City, AL; five sisters-in-law, Della Weeks of Lock Sheldrake, NY, Willie Ann Threatt of Faunsdale, AL, Annie Threatt & Dorothy Threatt of Uniontown, AL and Ollie Mae Threatt of Pell City, AL; brother-in-law, Derrick Ward of Uniontown, AL; devoted friends and neighbors, Maple & Elaine Hunter of Faunsdale, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
