Deacon Alfred Jones, age 78 of Jefferson, Alabama entered into eternal rest January 9, 2011 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Linden, Alabama. Rev. Alfred Hudson, Sr., officiant. Deacon Jessie Wheeler, Master of Order. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Alfred was forn to the late Ezekiah and Abbie L. Jones in Demopolis, Alabama. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pine Grove Baptist Church. Alfred married Dellena Tolbert in 1952 and resided in Jefferson, Alabama. To this union thirteen (13) children were born. Two children, Ezekiah and Alfred Jr. , five brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Jannie M. Dowdel of Ohio. Eleven children, Thelma Jones, Lena Gregg, Walter (Renee) Jones, Carolyn (Isaac) Jones, Carrie (Rickey) Jones, Loretta (Donald) Jack, Abbie (Leonard) Riggs, Genneva (Eric) Jones, John (Sarah) Jones, all of Seattle, WA., Frankie Jones (Lizzie), Catherine (Milton)Jones, Bernice (Derrick) Williams, Chicago, IL., Emma Jones, Demopolis, Alabama; one step-daughter, Vera Smith, Seattle, WA; one sister in law, Bertha Johnson, Mobile, AL; 49 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, two great, great, grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
