Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy R. Murphy were held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 12 noon at the El Shaddai AOH Church of Dixons Mills, Alabama. Overseer Gregory Lucy is the pastor and officiating minister. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, AL entrusted with all arrangements.

Daisy R. Murphy was born February 1, 1922 to the parentage of the late Henderson and Minnie Dixon in Marengo County, Alabama.

At an early age she joined Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Dixons Mills as was the tradition of her family, but after hearing the Gospel preached by the late Overseer C. W. Lewis, she united with the Dixons Mills AOH Church of God, now known as El Shaddai AOH Church and remained a member until her death.

She exchanged time for eternity on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital, Mobile, Alabama. Two sons, Charles Edward Murphy and McArthur Murphy; five sisters, Louise Pritchett, Alma Dixon, Earline Crippen, Geraldine Wells and Annie Stallworth; two brothers, J. D. Dixon and Charlie Dixon all preceded her in death.

A strong and beautiful woman leaves a legacy of memories to be cherished by four daughters, Gwendolyn Daniels, Hampton, GA, Elaine Murphy, Linden, AL, Linda Norwood, Sweetwater, AL and Loretta Dixon, Dixons Mills, AL; one son, Tommie Dixon, Dixons Mills, AL; two sisters, Minnie McCall, Surginer, AL and Willie Emma Dixon, Dixons Mills, AL; two nieces and two nephews whom she reared as her grandchildren, Steven Dixon, Thomasville, AL, Wilma (Zack) Walker, Charlotte Dixon, both of Dixons Mills, AL and Charlie "Pete" Dixon, Thomasville, AL; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
