Mrs. Carrie Beck, age 90 of Boligee, Alabama passed November 28, 2008 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Matthew-Watson Baptist Church, Boligee, Alabama. Rev. Christopher Spencer officiated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. A strong courtship with George Beck ended on March 23, 1946, when the two became one flesh. To this union, four boys and one girl were born. After the death of her sister (Bessie Johnson 1961), she took her niece, Johnnie into her home and reared her as one of her own children; often referring to her as "my oldest child". In addition to Bessie preceding her in death, there were four other siblings preceded her in death, Will Hamiliton, William "Essex" Hamilton, Mattie Gaines and Lucille Neal. George Beck, Jr. life ended August 29, 1952, three days after his birth. A portion of Sister Carrie Beck was also taken away when Rev. George Beck departed this life in a calm and peaceful slumber on Father's Day, June 18, 2000. Those celebrating her life and legacy included, but are not limited to: her children, the apple of her eye, her oldest son, Walter (Viola) Beck, James (Carolyn) Beck, Don "Wayne" (Tamela) Beck; Johnnie (Calvin Sr.) Knott and Mary Beck; sixteen grandchildren, 39 greatgrandchildren; a devoted friend, Ora Deloach, whom she held very dear to her heart.stepson, Will (Gloria) Bennett; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends.
