Mrs. Betty Jean Taylor, age 66 of Jefferson, Alabama passed October 19, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Jefferson, Alabama. Rev. Edmond Charleston will officiate. Deacon Jesse Wheeler, Master of Order. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. She was born to the parentage of the late Richard Harris, Sr. & Henrietta Bestedar. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she remained a faithful, dutiful and devoted member serving in the Doris Gospel Chorus, Senior Choir and Young Matron until her health failed. She entered into eternal rest October 19, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama. She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving and very devoted husband, Frank Taylor, Sr. of Jefferson, AL; eleven children, two who preceded her in death, Frank Taylor Jr. & Clarence Efferd Taylor; Beatrice (Anthony) Taylor, Jefferson, AL, Isaac (Caroline) Taylor of Seattle, WA, Shirley (Eddie) Merriweather of Jefferson, AL, Eddie (Glenda) Taylor of Mobile, AL, Rickie (Sharada) Taylor of Savannah, GA, Thomas & Danny Taylor of Jefferson, AL, Maggie (Corey) Holloway of Demopolis, AL, Antia (Trans) Jefferson of Gaithersburg, Maryland; Seven brothers and sisters, one preceded her in death, Willie Lee Harris; Richard (Cora) Harris, Gallion, AL, Peter (Bettie) Harris of Mobile, AL, Levi (Hattie) Harris of Tuscaloosa, AL, James Harris of Columbus, GA, Sallie Mae Henry Jones, Columbus, Georgia, Dorothy (Thomas) Compton of Jefferson, AL; a loving devoted sister-in-law, Ida Mae Johnson of Gallion, AL; two loving devoted grandchildren, Joseph (Pamela) Taylor & Patrick Taylor; Two devoted and loyal friends, Eva Mae Daniels and Rose Marie Alphabet of Jefferson, AL; 35 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
