Mrs. Betty R. Jones, age 67 of 2104 Old Springhill Road, Demopolis, Alabama, the beloved wife of Elder Amos Jones of Demopolis, Alabama entered into eternal rest June 11, 2009 at Riley Memorial Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi. Funeral Services were held Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 12 noon at the El Shaddai A.O.H. Church, Dixons Mills, Alabama. Overseer Gregory Lucy officiated. Interment followed in Memorial Cemetery,
Arcola Road, Demopolis, Alabama.

She was born to the late Deacon AC and Etherlean James in Carlton, Alabama. She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized in Jesus' name, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She committed her life to praising, worshiping and magnifying God. The path she chose was a life of commitment to God, hard work, caring for friends, loved ones and others and devotion to their well being. She was reared in Carlton, Alabama and attended Harper High School in Jackson, Alabama. She was united in Holy Matrimony almost fifty (50) years ag, on October 26, 1959, to Overseer Amos Jones. To this union was born twelve children; one daughter, Margaret Ann, preceded her in death. She served as first lady, church secretary, and state secretary for missionaries. She retired from Vanity Fair (Marengo Mills) in Demopolis, Alabama after 27 years as seamsress/sewing machine operator. She was also a hairdresser. She leaves her legacy of loving kindness to her husband, Overseer Amos Jones, Demopolis, AL; daughters, Ethel (Michael) Pollack, Annie Jones, Myra Jones Adjekum of Cincinnati, OH, Wanda (Kevin) Terrell of Bessemer, AL, Mary Jones of Demopolis, AL, Venessa (Curtis) Wright of Daleville, VA, Valada (Willie) Martino, Fountain Inn, S.C., Catrina(Philemon) Cooper of Anderson, IN and Alice Jones of Canago Park, CA; sons, Milton (Gloria) Jones of Cincinnati, OH, Reginald Jones and Amos Jones, Jr. of Demopolis, AL; seventeen (17) grandchildren, ten (10) great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma (Jessie) Rocker, Inez (Willie) Beverly and Secerine Tinch; three brothers, Joe L. (Alberta) James, Jesse (Hattie) James and TC (Eunell) James; three aunts, Sarah Nettles, Luvenia Pearson, and Bessie King; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Simmons, Nellie (Anthony) Walker, and Susie (Dr. Charles) Smith; four brothers-in-law, George (Bessie) Jones, Samuel Jones, James Jones and Peter (Yvonne) Jones; devoted friends, Rosie Sullivan, Julia Brown, Daisy Zanders, Sarah Miles, Dorothy Scott Foreman and numerous other relatives and friends.
