Mrs. Bettie Jean Johnson, age 67 of 710 Gardner Street, Linden, Alabama passed December 17, 2007 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moscow Baptist Church, Highway 80 West, Demopolis, Alabama. Rev. Timothy Page, Pastor. Rev. Robert E. Pearce, Jr. officiated. Deacon Jesse Wheeler, Master of Order. Interment followed in Moscow Cemetery, Demopolis, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. She was born to the parentage of the late Bessie Worthy. She was later adopted by Stone & Ethel Edwards who preceded her in death. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Moscow Baptist Church where she served faithfully. She was a member of Murray Chapter #554 Order of Eastern Star. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Mr. Neal Johnson of Gallion, AL; her loving children, Robert (Johnnie) Edwards of Jefferson, AL, Janice Rogers of Linden, AL, Sharon (Sidney) Haywood of Montgomery, AL and Sherry Johnson of Montgomery, AL; seven grandchildren, Michelle Edwards of Demopolis, AL, Robert Edwards, Jr. and Makayla Edwards of Jefferson, AL, Delisha and Letithia Rogers of Linden, AL, Corporal Sidney Haywood of Parris Island, S.C. and Ly'Tonya Haywood of Montgomery, AL; five great grandchildren; four siblings, William Eugene Jones, Jr. (Jackie) of Pinebush, NY and Stanley Kirkland of Sumpter, S.C., Orbidella (Clyde) Henry of Brooklyn, NY and Emily Jones Mitchell of Norfolk, VA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Ella Kirk and Juanita James as special care givers and also thanks to Comfort Care Hospice of Demopolis, Alabama. Three siblings, Thomas Curray Harris, Edison Jones and Vera Inge Washington preceded her in death.
