Mrs. Bertie Armstead, age 91 of Safford, Alabama entered into eternal rest January 24, 2015 at her residence in Safford, Alabama. Funeral services for Ms. Bertie Armstead were held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church, Thomaston, Alabama. Rev. Ivory Alexander, Pastor. Interment followed in Little Flanders Field Cemetery, Dayton, Alabama.  Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with all arrangements.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 58 years, Robert Lee Armstead of Safford, AL; four children, Mary (Joseph) Lewis, Auretha Dennis, both of Thomaston, AL, Wendy Armstead and Robert Armstead Jr., both of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Johnnie Mae McCray, Francis (Sam) McCray and Beulah Sharp; four brothers, Ben Sharp, Joe Lewis Sharp, Mack Sharp and Isaac Sharp, Jr.; ten grandchildren, Brunetta, Reva, Mea, Donnell, James, Wilma, Lakita, Tonya, Antonio, and Robert III; eleven great grandchildren; a devoted friend and neighbor, Annie Mae Waller and children; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
