Mrs. Alice Dykes, age 100 of Coatopa, Alabama entered into eternal rest August 14, 2012 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Demopolis, Alabama. Funeral Services were held Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Coatopa, Alabama. Rev. Willie J. Ivory, Pastor. Presiding Elder James Jackson officiated. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Coatopa, Alabama. Sis. Alice leaves to cherish her loving memories, six daughters, Vinnie Wilson (Jessie Joe), Sarah Brown,both of Birmingham, AL, Hannah Harville and (Willie) Fairfield, AL, Jerry Hale and (George), Livingston, Alabama, Louisa Arthur-Ofei, Gaithersburg, Maryland and Josephine Staton, Montgomery Village, Maryland; two sons, Steve Smith, Birmingham, Alabama and Howard Dykes, Jr., (Arana), Jamaica, New York; one sister, Cealo Knighton, Laurel, MS; two brothers, Green Williams, Sandusky and Frank Williams, Saint Louis, MO; two sisters-in-law, Mary Williams and Ella Lee Williams, Laurel, MS; twenty-two grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
